Educational Communication Science LAB, Osaka University, Graduate School of Human Sciences (Faculty of Human Sciences), has started in April 2009. We particularly make importance on higher order cognition, metacognition. Metacognition plays a significant role when we use our own cognition such as learning. Metacognition also plays a key role in other cognitive activities including communication, rational or scientific thinking and creative idea generation. We pursue finding effective ways of communication and thinking through understanding human traits of cognition.

Our methodological approaches are based on experimental cognitive and educational psychology and educational technology. We cover varieties of research topics in cognitive and educational psychology, and welcome research topics from empirical to applied.
